Make An Enrollment Payment and Payment Options

*TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve and TRICARE Young Adult premiums must be paid through an automatic payment method.

Health Net Federal Services, LLC (Health Net) does not charge a transaction fee for payments.

Making Payments

TRICARE Prime

If you are submitting a new TRICARE Prime enrollment application, complete the Payment of TRICARE Enrollment Fees section (Section VI) on page five of the form.

Existing TRICARE Prime enrollees can change quarterly billing statements to an automated monthly payment option with an allotment, EFT or RCC.

TRICARE Prime payments can also be made using a VISA or MasterCard three ways:

  • Online – You must have an account with myTRICARE Secure on myTRICARE.com to make an online payment. You will receive a payment confirmation number after making the payment. If you do not receive a confirmation number, please call us at 1-877-TRICARE (1-877-874-2273) during normal business hours (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. EST, Monday–Friday). Use the Make Payment button at the top of the page to make a payment online. When you make a debit or credit card payment, please do not press the submit button more than once. It can take up to one business day for your payment to be posted to your TRICARE account after your debit or credit card is charged.
  • Over the phone – Call 1-877-TRICARE (1-877-874-2273). After entering your sponsor's Social Security number, press option 4 and then option 1 to make the payment with the automated payment system. You will receive a payment confirmation number after making a payment by phone. It can take up to one business day for your payment to be posted to your TRICARE account after your debit or credit card is charged.
  • By mail – Return the bottom portion of your billing statement with your debit or credit card information. It can take up to one business day for your payment to be posted to your TRICARE account after your debit or credit card is charged.

Note: We can only accept TRICARE Prime enrollment check payments upon initial enrollment or when submitted with an automated payment method change form. You may make your quarterly payment by credit card while setting up your future automated payment method online.

TRICARE Reserve Select and TRICARE Retired Reserve

A monthly automatic payment such as an electronic funds transfer (EFT) or recurring credit card (RCC) must be in place for enrollment in TRICARE Reserve Select and TRICARE Retired Reserve.

If you are submitting a new TRICARE Reserve Select or TRICARE Retired Reserve enrollment application and did not select the option to make automatic RCC payments, submit the EFT & RCC Request Form along with the Reserve Component Health Coverage Request Form.

TRICARE Young Adult

A monthly automatic payment (EFT or RCC) must be in place for enrollment in TRICARE Reserve Select and TRICARE Retired Reserve.

If you are submitting a new TRICARE Young Adult enrollment application, complete Section 16 on page two of the form.

Billing Dates and Disenrollment for Non-Payment

TRICARE Prime

Quarterly billing statements are mailed by the 10th of the month. Payment is required by the due date listed on the statement. You will be mailed a past due notice if your payment is not received within five (5) days after the due date. You will be disenrolled for non-payment if your payment is received more than 30 days past the due date. There is a mandatory 12-month lockout for TRICARE Prime members who have been disenrolled for non-payment.

TRICARE Reserve Select, TRICARE Retired Reserve and TRICARE Young Adult

Requests for EFT and RCC are sent at the beginning of each month and the posting date to your account varies according to your bank or financial institution (typically between the 1st and the 5th of each month). You cannot request a specific date for your EFT or RCC to pull.

If your payment is unsuccessful due to insufficient or unavailable funds, you will be mailed a past due notice. You will be disenrolled for non-payment if a replacement payment is not received by the last day of the month after it was due. There is a mandatory 12-month lockout for TRS, TRR and TYA members who have been disenrolled for non-payment.

Insufficient or Unsuccessful Funds

Health Net will charge a $20 administrative fee for declined enrollment fee payments. Beneficiaries will be billed a $20 administrative fee along with the outstanding payment amount.

Payment received will be applied first to the $20 administrative fee, and then the remaining amount of the payment will be applied to the enrollment fee. Failure to pay both the administrative fee and the outstanding enrollment fee within 30 days of the account's paid-through date will result in disenrollment and a 12-month lockout from the program.
